From Jungle to Joy: Thank you JK Landscapes & Groundwork’s

Once upon a time (a couple of months ago!) our daycare garden looked less like a play area and more like a scene from Jumanji. The grass had ideas of its own, the weeds were winning and I’m fairly certain any longer, we could have started charging parents for Jungle Tours!

Then along came JK Landscaping & Groundwork’s - capes optional, shovels essential. They rolled up their sleeves, worked their magic and completely transformed our outdoor space. Now instead of “survival of the fittest” our little ones have a safe, bright, and welcoming garden to run, climb and play in.

The kids love it, the staff love it and parents are already asking if they can book play dates here, just to enjoy the space.

A huge thank you to JK Landscapes & Groundworks Team (Jim, Nathan, Enrique, Ozzy, Will & Steve - it took a village!) for their handwork, patience, creatively and sense of humour (which is a must when working around tiny humans!)

If you’re in Shropshire, Cheshire or the wider area and need an outdoor miracle - these are the people you call!

Exciting Garden Project

Help Us Grow the Little Bears Garden!

Thanks to incredible community support—including a Tesco Golden Grant (£5,000), Whitchurch Town Council grant (£1,000), The Rotary Club of Whitchurch, Shropshire donation (£1,000), and contributions from Landia UK Ltd.

(£600), Whitchurch & District Club (£400), and

Card Factory raffles—we’re well on our way to transforming our garden into a vibrant, inspiring space for our little ones.

But we still need your help. Every pound we raise through fundraising means less pressure on our vital reserves, allowing us to focus on what matters most—helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

With your support, we can create a garden full of adventure, discovery, and opportunity.

OFSTED  OUTSTANDING

Nursery Managers Aimee Bailey & Beth Williams along with Deputy Manager Sally Hale at Little Bears Daycare in Whitchurch are delighted to announce after their recent Ofsted Inspection, they received an “Outstanding” status! This is the highest grade they have ever received.

“We are over the moon with the result! The Management Team are so happy Little Bears is finally being recognised for all the hard work, passion and dedication all of our team put in day in day out. As a charity run nursery, we are lucky enough to be able to really put our stamp on the nursery and the ethos we have created, we are very much a community led daycare, continuing to branch out our connections such as visiting the Bradbury Day Centre or taking a trip on the town bus. We are so proud to lead a team that cares so completely for the children here and who go the extra mile in every way.”
